ABOUT US

Why We're Rallying Around MACC

Friends of MACC is a group of volunteers that wants to help MACC care for more than 4,000 homeless animals that come to the shelter each year. MACC is a community resource – they are the only shelter in Nashville that takes in strays – so we want our community to get involved. Our goal is to bring more funding to MACC so we can better support the shelter in caring for our homeless animals.

Just look at what MACC did in 2021!

Friends of MACC supports MACC’s efforts in helping homeless animals become the amazing pets they were born to be. We want to get the community involved in our community shelter, too!

MACC's community programs:
  • Bow Wow Breakouts:  Take a pup out for the day (or two) for some fun, hiking, snuggling, and love.
  • Low-Cost Rabies Clinics: $26 rabies shots; (currently on hold).
  • Low-Cost Microchip Clinics: $10 microchips every Thursday, 10am to 3pm, no appointment necessary (currently on hold until further notice).
  • Safety Net Program: Provides support to families needing assistance with caring for their pets.
  • Free Ride Home: Lost pets with proper ID, tags, and microchips get a lift back home at no cost.
